Catching the Holy Ghost: Unlearning Okie Doke #1

Okie Doke 1: "Catching the Holy Ghost"

Biggest White Lie Ever Taught To the Black Community /  God’s Character

August 28, 2018

 By Kwenela Tubbs

The idea of catching the Holy Ghost has been around for a long time. Many people do not realize that this belief is nothing more than a traditional phrase that was made up by men and so many follow this belief blindly. This belief has nothing to deal with God and the Bible. God instructs us to ignore and to do away with the traditions of man and this instruction from God.

They worship Me in vain; they teach as doctrine the precepts of men.’ You have disregarded the commandment of God to keep the tradition of men.” He went on to say, “You neatly set aside the commandment of God to maintain your own tradition. – Mark 7:7-9

His instruction is very important to apply in your life in order to not be fooled by the many traditions that are found within the culture that you were born and raised in. Although this belief seems harmless on the surface it is far from that and in actuality, this belief makes a mockery of God.  If you have not heard about the idea of catching the Holy Ghost I highly encourage you to read this as this lie may pass across you one day and not only damage your spiritual walk with Jesus, but it can also paint a false picture of who God’s character is. So let me start off by saying that someone can not “catch” the Holy Ghost. I will tell you some of the top reasons why this is unbiblical and illogical at the same time; both of which contradict God.

Understanding God’s character to know He can’t be caught

Let me set this straight first. Many people think there are separate entities within God but God is One. His essence is Holy which is another way of saying He is pure and untainted. The word Holy is a description of God’s character. The word Holy is not a separate entity because it is a description. Now, God is a Spirit and by Him being A) Holy and B) a Spirit He is by definition called a Holy Spirit. Saying the word Holy Spirit is the same thing as saying Holy Ghost because both are unseen, but do exist.

Let’s say that someone works hard in anything that they do. This “someone” is a person obviously. So you would call them a hardworking person. The word that describes the person is hardworking and is not an actual being in itself because the word hardworking simply is a descriptive word just like the word Holy is.  There is no third separate “person” that exists. The Holy Spirit is what God is defined as His being, just as we are defined as being humans. His Word, who is Jesus, is a part of Him, not separate from Him. It is just like your words are not separate from you. God is acknowledged as the Father of creation and thus is our Heavenly Father who is a Holy Spirit that speaks with His Word and that wants a relationship with His creation. I say again there are no separate “god’s” or “persons” as many false doctrines and churches teach. What I just described to you was already outlined within the Bible hundreds of years before man agreed on the false doctrine called, “The Trinity”. God mentions His essence as the Godhead within scripture and it is what I just described above.

When you understand this, you understand that you who are A) a physical being cannot logically “catch” B) anything that is unseen. This is to include ideas, emotions, thoughts, the wind, gravity, or anything else unseen. You would understand that someone or something that is unholy can not “catch” someone who is Holy. Logically we would be destroyed if that were possible. An antidote or a cure (something good) can rid the existence of poison or a disease (something bad) in an instant. That is how God is compared to mankind.

Now, why is this all important to know? Can you physically or spiritually catch words? Can you physically catch ghosts or spirits and contain them? No? That is because a physical being can not catch anything unless the thing that they catch is “physical”. That’s logic and God did create logic since He did create everything, right? Then why do so many in the (physical) church believe that they can “catch” God or better yet think that they contain an omnipotent God within four walls? Why does the (physical) church believe that God is contained only in a building where He can be “caught” every Sunday when clearly God says otherwise?

God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands…-Acts 17:24

You can not catch anything unseen. When the wind blows do you say, “I caught a strong gust of wind!”, or would it make more sense to say, “That strong gust of wind was well received!” Even though most would say the first one they are speaking in a figurative language and not literally. When people claim to “catch” the Holy Ghost, they actually think that they “caught” God.  The only thing you can do when you experience something unseen is by receiving that something that is unseen. This brings me to my next point.

God’s presence is all around us and is never far away from us.

From one man He made every nation of men, to inhabit the whole earth; and He determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their lands.  God intended that they would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us. -Acts 17:26-27

So there’s no need to catch God as if He were a baseball or as if He were a Pokémon. God is present everywhere and God can be received by everyone. Here is the thing. God does not force His Will on any of His creation. So although He is present everywhere you will not see Him or experience Him unless you acknowledge Him by seeking the truth and wanting Him to come into your life (Jeremiah 33:3). You receive God into your life when you repent from your ways, confess and believe in your heart and with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, and when you accept His Son which is His Word: Jesus Christ.

The biblical story starts with humans being in God’s presence initially. Adam and Eve did not “catch” God but rather received Him by living in His presence; which by the way was all around Adam and Eve as stated in Acts 17:26-27. Adam and Eve lived in the Garden of Eden and the word Eden in Hebrew (the language the Old Testament was written in) means paradise, pleasure, glorious spot/dwelling. When you are living in the presence of God and you have received Him you are living in Heaven because anywhere where God dwells, so does perfection and peace also.

Sin took humans away from God’s presence because sin (which is evil) can’t be in the presence of God (who is Holy and pure) without being destroyed. God came down to Earth wanting to have a relationship with His creation like He did in the beginning with Adam and Eve. He made a way for humans to be in His presence again through His Word. This was the very part of Him that spoke everything into existence and made it good. His Word is Jesus and through Jesus, we are made good in God’s eyes to dwell in His presence without rituals and restrictions that later came with the law. This is why Jesus was saying that the Kingdom of God had come. The Kingdom of God is Heaven/Paradise. God resides in His Kingdom. So by the Kingdom of God coming to earth, that means that God’s presence (Eden) can be experienced once again amongst mankind. That is why this is such good news!

Jesus is the antidote to heal us from the poison (sin) that separated us from God’s presence. The thing is, you can’t  “catch” God’s Word (Jesus) who is a part of God’s Spirit (also known as the Holy Spirit). You have to receive Jesus, which means you have to receive and accept God’s Word of there being a way to BE pure again and to be in His presence again without sin. You are in God’s presence when He lives in YOU and purifies you and makes you “good”.

This is why we are all called to repent from a sinful nature, change our ways, and to stop following a life of sin when we follow Jesus all the days of our lives. This is done through daily refinement, meditation, and immersion in God’s Word by reading and applying His Word daily; not by “catching” Jesus as if He was someone to be caught.

Just listen to how ridiculous this conversation sounds in terms of this false belief. Let’s say there are two women that are talking and one asks, “Sarah did you make it to church this past Sunday?” And she replies, “I didn’t make it. I didn’t get to catch the Holy Ghost but I will next Sunday.” This conversation is something that actually happens in real life.

Now the problem with Sarah’s reply is that Sarah can’t promise someone that she will even be alive next Sunday. I must ask these questions. If Sarah doesn’t “catch” the Holy Ghost this week does it mean that Sarah is going to hell if she dies this week? According to what the Bible says that would be a, No! But wait! Even if Sarah claimed to catch something at the beginning of the week, because it wasn’t God, it didn’t help Sarah throughout the week. This prompts Sarah to believe she would need to make a routine of “catching” God the next week.

Now if it didn’t work the first time, why does one think that catching God next week and the next week, would change their situation?  Another issue with the idea of “catching” the Holy Ghost is that what Sarah is saying is that if you obey God but do not attend church services, then you might miss out on “catching” Him. What about those who aren’t good catchers? I played a little softball here and there, but I’m not that coordinated like I used to be. What if I don’t “catch” the Holy Ghost when I attend service and I wanted to? Like, what if I really wanted to “catch” God and missed? What happens to me? Is that my fault that I missed God? Is God mad at me? What if I “caught” the Holy Ghost but don’t feel like having Him throughout the week so I let the Holy Ghost go whenever I’m tired of Him to then later “catch” Him again when I need Him? Could I do that as well? Doesn’t this all sound ridiculous? Does this all sound a bit confusing? Yes? Does this sound like the God of the Bible? Nope. God is not a God of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33). This idea is nowhere near who God is.

Saying that the Holy Spirit (who is God) can be caught is also saying that He doesn’t fulfill His promises.

This is a lie straight from Satan, the Father of Lies (John 8:44). Satan is a god of confusion and disorder. He tells this lie to not only keep you from knowing who God is but he also does this to make you think that it is acceptable for God to be caught like a Pokémon. Only Satan makes empty promises and can create something as petty and ridiculous as this lie. Satan makes the idea of eternity in Heaven with God a sporting event that is based on works. And you can’t work to please God. (Isaiah 64:6) Your obedience to Him is what pleases HIm. Salvation is a free gift from God. You can only receive God and to be in His presence here on earth and in when we meet Him in Heaven.

When you choose to love God by remaining obedient to Him and when you live your life for Him as a living sacrifice, God says through His Word (Jesus) that He will send a helper to help us with combating sin and transgressions every day. The Helper IS the Holy Spirit/Ghost. (John 14:16-17)  Notice that it was God’s Word that said that He would send the Helper, not that you had to “catch” the Helper. In order to receive something unseen it has to be sent by something or someone unseen. God also doesn‘t say, “Oh well, you’re going to hell if you don’t “catch” the Helper…Hate to be you.”

When you are saved through Jesus, Jesus Himself said that He would never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). So how can you catch God every Sunday if He already lives within you once you are saved? Plus, God, who is never changing and is the same from the beginning to the end, said that He is not like a man that He should lie. (Numbers 23:19).

So when God promises to be with you all the days of your life that promise does not change. This alone should tell you that the idea of “catching” the Holy Ghost or the Holy Spirit comes from the doctrines and lies of confused men and not of God (Isaiah 29:13, Mark 7:7, Colossians 2:22, Matthew 15:8-9).  Even God says that men makeup ideas about Him and make Him out to be something that He is not:

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. -Romans 1:21-23

So just don’t listen and trust men before God; it’s that easy. People that makeup things about God that are not true, listen to Satan’s lies to make you think that God does not commit to His promises or His character. So what are these people doing when they are claiming to be “catching” the Holy Ghost? Continue reading.

Know the characteristics of the Holy Ghost which are the fruits of the Holy Spirit

I have already discussed God’s character but let me get into His character a little more. God represents life. In Genesis, He represents the Tree of Life. When Adam and Eve chose the fruit from the Tree of knowledge of good and evil, they also made the choice to not choose from the fruit that God provides from the Tree of life. They instead chose from the fruit that came from the knowledge of good and evil. Those fruits are their own definitions of what good and evil are or whatever they make up in their minds to be good and evil. Why is this important? Because just like there are two choices that you can choose to do in this world; good and evil; there are fruits that go along with those choices. The differences between good and evil are easy to spot out.

Let me make something clear first. It is okay for you to feel God’s presence. He even says where there are two or three gathered in His name He is present. (Matthew 18:20). No acts of catching are needed by the way. So yes, you can experience God’s presence and it is okay to shout, praise, and sing for the glory of God. The Bible is all clear about doing so and is very specific about whom to sing to:

Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him. -Psalms 68:4

Here is a quick list of the many verses that speak about praising God from both the Old and New Testament: Psalms 89:1, Psalms 105:2, Psalms 132:9, Psalms 104:33, Acts 16:25, Colossians 3:16, 1 Corinthians 14:15, Ephesians 5:19, Isaiah 42:10.

Now I have praised and experienced God’s presence on many occasions. This is why Satan hates for you to praise and worship God because it gives God glory and not Satan the glory. Praise is one way to experience God, and that is just something that Satan does not want you to do. God’s emotion and love are so overwhelming that you can’t help but to cry and praise Him. But not once did I need to run around the altar screaming. Not once did I feel the need to speak in tongues every time I felt God’s presence (that’s a topic for another discussion because there are some that can speak in tongues from the Holy Spirit and there are tongues spoken from evil spirits as well). And not once did I bounce around in a crazy manner, falling all over the place, or running into people like I was mad because God is a God of order.

Let’s take a look at the verses that describe the fruits of the Holy Spirit so that you can tell when it is the Holy Spirit that someone is experiencing or if there is something else going on:

Sadly, a lot of church members that think that they can “catch” the Holy Ghost and that also attend church regularly don’t seem to have some or any of these fruits in everyday life now do they? Again, that will be another blog for another time. Jesus said Himself that not everyone that calls Him Lord belongs to Him or that He knows them. (Matthew 7:21-23).

So for the many who go to church thinking that they are saved or in this case think that they have to “catch” the Holy Ghost as a rite of passage for salvation, are actually unknown to Jesus and won’t make it into Heaven. An even sadder thing is that many people who have left the church and stopped seeking God have fallen for this same lie and mock Christianity for it.

For example, many atheists and people who claimed to have left the church will argue a believer down about the validity of “catching” the Holy Ghost when in reality they are trying to validate their reason for leaving the church based on their belief in a lie. They, in turn, mock the church in the same manner that Satan mocks the church. This is how Satan works. He has a short time, and he is trying his best to deceive everyone. So I want you to look at this video and see how the idea of catching or anointing someone with the Holy Ghost looks no different than the occult when the people involved do not possess the fruits of the Spirit.

Now, look at the last fruit of the Spirit, which is self-control. People are “catching” an unholy spirit in all ethnic churches. Tell me if this looks like self-control or anything Holy entering their bodies?

By the Pope (the Bible already warns about the Pope and the Vatican “church”

 Korean church

At a Latino church

In Indonesia

At a predominantly “black” church

Benny Hinn’s church…pay attention closely to the man at the beginning that gets knocked back 3 times on the stage. Look at both of this feet completely lift off of the ground even when no one is touching him.

Doesn’t seem to be like anything Holy entering their bodies does it? I will get into what type of spirit they have in a little.

First, look at these verses:

Beloved, do not believe every spirit but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.  By this, you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.  Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this, we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error. –1 John 4:4-5

The scriptures state to test every spirit. I think that went right past some of you all, so let me say it again for the people in the back. God warns that we must test EVERY spirit. So clearly that means that there is more than just a Spirit that is Holy right?

In a world where there has two opposites to everything since there is a good Spirit then logically there must be bad spirits. Does that mean that just because you feel something you attribute that “something” to God? No. Does that mean that just because you “feel” good that the spirit that you felt belongs to God? NO! So why do people do believe things based solely on feelings without testing them? It is because A) They do not read their bibles and half of the reason is that they do not want to learn on their own with God but want to listen to things that also “sound” good so they can “feel” good and B) people typically like to believe that everything that glitters is gold and instead of searching for real gold they don’t mind settling for fool’s gold. Satan tempts you by your emotions. He wants you to think with your emotions and not with your logic.

How many people do you know get in and stay in abusive relationships because they “feel” good when in reality the relationship is not good at all? How many times do they perform and act like they are happy but because they “feel” good in reality, they were blindly led by their emotions and became complacent in a false reality? So why does God say to test every spirit? Because He wrote the Bible for your protection and because He loves you. Only someone that loves you will want to prevent you from believing a lie or looking like a fool, so you don’t end up doing this:

Let’s get into the part where we learn just what type of spirit this is. This has already been addressed multiple times by other fellow believers so I won’t delve into it too much. I will leave links in the below so you can learn more about it but don’t stray too far into it because it is a dangerous topic to research. Since we already know the fruits of the Spirit, then the fruits that are not of the Spirit are of the flesh. This is the carnal nature of mankind. When we continue to read the rest of the verse that talks about the fruits of the Spirit we can tell who is of God and who is not of God whether or not they go to church every Sunday.

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit,  let us walk in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying one another.

-Galatians 5:24-26

How many people come to church on Sunday that is still conceited, provoke drama and mess,  and that envy each other? It’s kind of common, isn’t it? Want to see the next chapter of this that tells more about those who think that they can “catch” the Holy Ghost?

Brothers, if someone is caught in a trespass, you who are spiritual should restore him with a spirit of gentleness. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. Carry one another‘s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the Law of Christ.…If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. Each one should test his own work. Then he will have reason to boast in himself alone, and not in someone else Each one should test his own work. Then he will have reason to boast in himself alone, and not in someone else. For each one should carry his own load, However, the one who receives instruction in the word must share in all good things with his instructor.…Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. Whatever a man sows, he will reap in return. The one who sows to please his flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; but the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

-Galatians 6:1-8

Isn’t it common that we see many people that go to church not care for each other, not want to help a fellow man out, and run from the idea of carrying another person’s burdens? And in the case of sowing seeds to please their flesh they think that they can mock and tempt God with money and yet wonder why they don’t hear from Him? These sound familiar right? We shouldn’t mock them or make fun of them. I am only making a point. We need to pray for them because they have been deceived. Remember, when you love someone you expose the lie and tell them the truth. Every Sunday many people falsely think that they have to jump around to music and tithe to get what they want from God while living every day contrary to what God states. This is called Churchianity not a faith-based relationship with God that is created by God.

Now let’s look into what kind of spirit they might have or have “caught” and you will understand the need for prayer on their behalf.

“Catching” the Kundalini

Remember that God said to test every spirit to see if they come from Him. Not only does God acknowledge that there are other spirits besides Him but it’s a good thing to ponder on the notion that anything that is not of God must be evil because God is pure and good. So since many that claim to “catch” a spirit do not have the fruits of the Holy Spirit nor do their actions show self-control; which is a fruit of the spirit; then what spirit do they have?

One of the most well known evil spirits that makes someone acts in the “catch” the Holy Ghost possessed manner, is commonly known in Hindu culture as the Kundalini spirit. They also call this spirit the “Serpent spirit” and the belief is that you possess the Kundalini or a “god” at the base of your spine in the form of a serpent and as it rises to your third eye you can become enlightened or become like God Himself or in some circles Christ conscious. If you are familiar with Genesis this is a literal reference to Satan himself making Adam and Eve think that they could be God. Satan came in the form of a snake (serpent).

Through certain yoga positioning, breathing, and deep meditation, or by a guru placing their open palm onto your forehead; you raise this “serpent” up your spine. This “enlightened” feeling is when people jerk, scream, shout, bark, hop, etc. and these manifestations are called “Kriyas”.

Before I explain how the Kundalini spirit has swept into American churches, I want to chime in on its familiarity with the “black” churches that believe they are “catching” the Holy Ghost. This familiar spirit seems to have operated in more than just Hinduism and Indian culture. I have looked at the history of the predominantly African American churches; primarily the Baptist church, and although not all churches allow this spirit in; I have seen the hopping, jiving, jumping, screaming and jerking first hand as a little girl.

Trust me as a little girl if you went into churches like this it was scary. But of course, many people would tell me that everything was okay and that the people acting in such a manner had, “caught” the Holy Ghost and that everything was all right. As a little girl even though I had no idea what was going on I still thought that something wasn’t right. Thank God we didn’t continue to go to churches like this. It is also ironic that churches that took part in this behavior tend to have impoverished and declining neighborhoods around them, instead of being blessed and filled by god promises. Hmmm… I wonder why?

Now a more eery thing about “catching”  the Holy Ghost in the black churches that seemed to be more traditional than biblical is that you can find old videos on youtube of the 1920s and 1930s of people dancing, juking, and jiving, and acting in the same manner as people do today that claim to “catch” the Holy Ghost. It all looks like the same actions that you would find at ritual gatherings of occult cultures. The only difference is that the music changes but the actions, or fruits, are still the same.

In fact, in Indian culture, it is required for there to be a Shaman or Guru present when these evil spirits enter your body. These shamans are supposed to “release” these demons or break the ritual when things get out of hand. Not if things get out of hand, but when things get out of hand. Does this sound like a pure and Holy God?

Look at a lot of African cultures which are not that much different from the Indian culture in the worship of evil spirits. You see evil in the faces of African masks. You see it in a lot of the culture where they worship multiple unknown “spirits” instead of God. Voodoo and other witchcraft are common. Within their culture, you see the need to have a medicine man which is commonly known as the “witch” doctor or Shaman. You see some African tribes dance around a fire while they are engaging in their rituals with unknown spirits. Now, look at how Africans dance and fast forward to today and look at how black people dance and act when they claim to have “caught” the Holy Ghost. Looks about the same right? Not only is this “spirit” common in Indian and African culture but check out the Chinese culture where the name of the spirit is called Qigong. The names are different, but I say again the symptoms (or fruit) are the same. There seems to be a common denominator here operating…

The Kundalini spread throughout the pulpits of the churches of America at an alarming rate in the 80s and the early 90s but many believe that it was brought to America during the 60s and 70s during the hippie and new acceptance of the eastern religion movement known as  “freeing your mind” or commonly known as the “New Age” movement. Starting to sound like Satan is reusing an old lie in today’s age of “enlightenment” culture, doesn’t it?

Look at the big names promoting the New Age today. It is a long list of influencers and it ranges from rappers, celebrities, athletes, politicians, and even Oprah. Yes, Oprah! The same Oprah that has a massive following of people. The same Oprah that was raised in a Baptist church and like many that left the faith and many of the false beliefs that reside in the Baptist church, she denounces Jesus to this day but claims she is a Christian while spouting New Age beliefs under her title of Christian. Hmmmm…didn’t I say earlier that Jesus states many would come in His name but they would not belong to Him?

While many people are adopting a “new way” to “experience” God during yoga, meditation, and “revival” church services they are also opening themselves up to unknown spirits. In order for a spirit to operate in this lawful world, all they need is your authority and they can control you. By “freeing your mind” which is the opposite of the definition of meditation and by allowing yourself to be “anointed” by false pastors and church members you are giving authority to these evil spirits to take over your mental, physical, and spiritual state. You are allowing yourself to be in bondage.

Since people allow themselves to be open to this serpent spirit, they enjoy the spiritual experience of feeling heightened and “revived” and that is because they feel the power of demons masquerading as the light within them.

I may or may not cover this topic in the future because there are oh so many blogs and videos that give in-depth descriptions about the Kundalini spirit. Many of these testimonies come from people who are now saved and who once indulged in the occult and the “enlightenment movement.” I will leave some great links for further study below. I am more focused on warning you or reminding you of the evil in this world if you are already familiar with some of this information.

Now I really want you to ponder on something before I close this up. I want you to look at how church members act when they claim that they “caught” the Holy Ghost. This is no joke. Do they uncontrollably convulse into spasms as if they were having a stroke? Do they roll their eyes in the back of their heads and mumble or foam at the mouth? Do they look like they do not have control over their bodies? Do they laugh uncontrollably? Do they fall out into the floor? Does it look like they are having fun or going crazy rather than praising God? Do they appear to be drunk? Is any of this self-control; a fruit of the Holy Spirit?

Now I understand that praise and dancing in a similar manner to what you have seen growing up may be something that you do when praising God. Nothing is wrong with that. Praise is between man and God. God knows your heart and intent when it is towards Him and not towards performing an act for recognition. Praise is not supposed to look like a show where you are performing for the church congregation because if the praise is not to God then it is a mockery to God. I am only speaking for those who see shouting and hollering and by default think that they missed out on “catching” the Holy Ghost. Even if someone is not possessed they are still “acting” out on what they see, so even in this situation one can’t say “So and so caught the Holy Ghost.” just because they see someone jumping around and screaming. What some are doing is just taking part in dance and may not be worshipping God, but as stated before that is between them and God. God knows who is lying to Him and they will be judged accordingly in due time.

Either way, I understand that looks can deceive and that when we are to be like God; we need to look at a man’s heart and intentions and not the outer appearance. BUT I will also note that God is peace and order. While we should not judge by a person’s appearance, we are to judge by their actions in order to test the spirits right? Even Jesus said that if you do not believe in Him, believe in His works (actions) in order to know that the Father is within Him and that He is in the Father (John 10:38).

Therefore, when God dwells within you, once you are saved, He does not make you act like anything other than peace and order and the fruits of the Spirit as mentioned before. These are the works that we are supposed to test. When God was here on earth as Jesus, He healed people and touched them. They did not go into convulsions, they just got up and started walking. They praised Jesus in the streets and cried out towards Him. They didn’t go running around the town frantically. They didn’t crawl on the floor saying things people couldn’t understand. In fact; when Jesus would see this, He knew that demons possessed them and He would call the demons out of people that were acting this way.

Overall, this is one of the many ways that Satan has crept into the church to deceive many (Matthew 24:24).  He has spread a spirit across non-believers and those that are young in the faith. A belief that states that “feeling good” is “feeling” God when in reality what they do “feel” is something evil and that is not of God. With false beliefs like this Satan makes non-believers think that God operates in this ridiculous manner while many others are left afraid of God. And because a non-believer does not know God they stay away from Him which is exactly what Satan wants. Please get right with God by repenting and following Jesus who will show you all of this foolery and much more. Don’t be fooled by this recanted lie of “catching” the Holy Ghost. Don’t fall for this Okie Doke. God designed you and me to be much smarter than this.

Hey everyone!!! My name is Kwenela Tubbs and I am a self-taught artist and comic book illustrator as well as the founder of Servant Status, AOK inks studios, and FFS tees. Ever since I had rededicated my life to Christ I started a movement called Artist Take On The Great Commission (#artisttakeonthegreatcommission, #ATOTGC) where I (the artist) am taking on what all followers of Jesus Christ are called to do:The Great Commission. (Matthew 28:16-20) While I am producing blogs and vlogs for the ministry I am also working to produce comics, books, and animations that glorify God’s Kingdom as well as make readers more aware of the deceitful world around them. I hope I have the pleasure of getting to know you soon! :)
